BSU Gene Harris Jam Sesh

Join us for Boise States Gene Harris Jam Sesh Night. Stop by, enjoy the jam, or bring an instrument and join the jam!

One of the most profound and lasting impacts that the late Gene Harris had on the Boise Community was his presence at local jam sessions. Gene could be found downtown every night playing with students in a jam session setting. Gene would patiently accompany them as they experienced the living American art form of jazz in the same way that he and the other great jazz masters learned. This type of experience is disappearing from the formative experiences of jazz students globally.

A jam session is where jazz musicians can come “sit in” with the house band. Historically this is how musicians discovered each other and how they advertised themselves. Jam sessions were also a place where younger players could absorb and apply what older players were playing, and experiment with their own material. Jam Sessions are made possible through the shared body of jazz standards, and the general knowledge of how jazz is performed and structured.

An Evening of Jazz with Kristin Korb — Sophisticated Swing with a Modern Twist

Get ready for an unforgettable night of feel-good jazz that speaks to both the heart of the music and the joy of live performance. Internationally acclaimed bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb brings her signature blend of classic jazz standards and contemporary pop melodies to Boise—where her own musical journey began.

With elegant, swinging bass lines and a crystal-clear voice reminiscent of Diana Krall and Eliane Elias, Kristin delivers each song with warmth, wit, and finesse. In recent years, she’s expanded her repertoire to include fresh takes on iconic pop tunes—like the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”—seamlessly weaving them into her jazz roots.

Though born in Montana, Kristin grew up in Boise and first discovered jazz at East Jr. High. It was love at first listen—and the beginning of a remarkable musical career that has taken her around the world.

Don’t miss this chance to welcome Kristin Korb back home for a night of timeless tunes, swinging grooves, and joyful connection.

Small Ensemble Standards Night: DC3- Dan Costello Trio

🎷 Small Ensemble Standard Jazz Night with DC3 🎷Join us for another unforgettable Small Ensemble Standard Jazz Night, where timeless jazz standards get a fresh, intimate twist. This evening features DC3 – The Dan Costello Trio, a group led by one of Boise’s most beloved musical staples.

His warm, dynamic style—equal parts storyteller and showman—makes for an evening of music that feels as good as it sounds.

SPRING RELEASE PARTY

TICKETS HERE

We have an extra special Spring Release Party lined up for you on Friday, May 2nd. This is an RSVP event, with specific time slots, so make sure you sign up. If you don’t care for events, you are more than welcome to come to our after-party in the event space, where wine will be available by the glass and bottle. We will also have a food truck.

So, why should you come to yet another release party? Because, this will be unlike any other. This release is not focused on a region or a grape. The wines we are releasing are representative of my Coiled path; an ongoing cycle between Paris, Purpose, and Passion.

My exposure to wine began in France. I did not fall in love with expensive and exclusive wines. I fell in love with craft, local pride, and the sacred ritual of breaking bread and drinking wine with those we love. Unfortunately, love alone does not keep a small business afloat. I have made many purposeful decisions along the way. And of course, passion allows me to keep trudging forward. Without it, I would have given up long ago.

The new roster of wines we have chosen to tell this story includes our 2023 Rizza, our 2022 Translations Cab, called Grit, and a Priorat, imported from Spain. This eclectic collection of wines will be paired with a narrated performance. Cindy will lead the exploration of the wines, alongside pianist Alex Sjobeck and Flamenco.

Sign up for a time slot and please arrive 5 minutes early to sign in and grab a seat. Plan to stay and play in our event space after the performance, where we will offer wine, beer, a food truck, shuffleboard, and outdoor games if the weather cooperates.

The performances last 45 minutes. We will take half an hour in between to get ready for the next round, so if you come early, you can go to the party area. Performance doors will open 5 minutes before each time slot.

Doors lock when performance begins, so don’t be late! If you arrive early, please head to the party in the event space and come to the tasting room 5 minutes before your time slot.
